Liverpool warn supporters in Naples to be ‚vigilant‘ over fears of violence from Napoli fans

Liverpool have warned their fans to stay inside their resorts and prevent wearing club colors over anxieties to their personal security.
Ahead of the opening Group E battle Napoli on Tuesday, the Reds issued information simply to go to the stadium on designated buses and to“remain vigilant“ in regions away from the city’s vent more than fears of violence from rival supporters.
Several Liverpool fans were treated for stab wounds when they last visited the city throughout the 2010-11 Champions League campaignwhen reports described Reds lovers as being“hunted“ by Napoli ultras.
The Premier League club have advised travelling supporters that“prior to match-day, (they) should stay within their various hotels to eat and drink“ and“should not congregate (on bulk ) in public places and should avoid getting isolated“.
They also said:“Supporters are recommended not to wear club colours away from the vent area (and) any fans wanting to visit the interior areas of Naples city must stay vigilant and know they might be targeted at petty theft, robbery and assault.“
Supporters also needs to“not make their own way into the stadium as a result of threats to their personal safety. This is applicable even if your hotel is close to the scene“.
Liverpool fans are advised to congregate no later than 15:30 in the Naples Marine Terminal for shuttle buses into the scene, the last leaving no later than 18:30, and they’ll be held back within the San Paolo Stadium to get at least one hour following the full-time whistle.
