Gary Caldwell was sacked as manager by Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle.
Former Celtic and Scotland defender Caldwell and his assistant manager Brian Kerr have had their contracts terminated with immediate effect.
After a run of form resulting in Thistle languishing second-bottom of this Scottish second grade win this season, the board agreed about the decision.
Partick Thistle chairman David Beattie stated:“That isn’t an outcome anyone desired, however we think this decision is in the best interests of the team and we can wait no longer to make a shift.
„On behalf of this board, I’d like to thank Gary and Brian for their efforts for Partick Thistle and want them every success in their future careers.“
The Glasgow club had been relegated from the top-flight in 2018 and narrowly avoided relegation last year, together with all Caldwell carrying in October last year following Alan Archibald’s departure.
Chief executive Gerry Britton, academy director Scott Allison and first-team striker Kenny Miller will take charge for Thistle’s home game against Dunfermline Athletic on Saturday.
