Gloucestershire took a step towards regaining his Specsavers County Championship Division One status for the very first time in 14 years by completing a six-wicket victory over Worcestershire.
Scorecard
The visitors resumed after a session on Tuesday on 54-4 in pursuit of 115 at the face of a disciplined bowling by the Worcestershire assault.
However, in the last three nightwatchman Josh Shaw and Miles Hammond discovered batting a lot easier and victory was secured within 50 minutes and 13.3 overs of the beginning of the day. Hammond ended unbeaten on Shaw 38 and 35 not out in an unbroken venture.
Gloucestershire might now need just a couple of bonus points – depending on the outcomes of Durham and ongoing matches including marketing contests Sussex.
Gloucestershire batted more positively on day three and the tone was set by Shaw using a back-foot push for four.
Hammond survived a confident lbw shout in a few of the scares of this afternoon until Shaw finished the victory with a cover drive.
