Britain ended their World Championships campaign after the womens 4x400m relay team won bronze.
The quartet of Zoey Clark, Jodie Williams, Emily Diamond and Laviai Nielsen finished fourth at the final but have been transferred to third following Jamaicas disqualification.
The mens team didnt finish their race following a changeover error between Rabah Yousif and Toby Harries.
As they finished top of the buffet table with 14 16, the USA won the race.
We conducted off our socks today, each one of us Diamond told BBC Sport. We desired that medal so, so badly.
That is the fastest weve run in many decades, it surpasses that the Olympics, and that I believe we can be pleased with ourselves.
The choice to penalise Jamaica for a problem over positioning in the changeover region was welcome news for Britain, who have been set to get their lowest prize complete because the three won at Helsinki 2005.
Golds for Dina-Asher Smith in the 200m and Katarina supposed Britain ended sixth at the desk and paired their tally.
