Chris Silverwood favourite to take over as England head coach

England are close to appointing a new head trainer the current favourite for the task.
Silverwood, whos now the bowling coach of England, was interviewed for the function and discussions over the appointment have been occurring this week end, Sky Sports News understands.
Hes currently set to replace Trevor Bayliss, that left as head coach a month after four years in charge, along with an announcement could be made as early as next week.
Gary Kirsten, the India and South Africa coach, is understood to have already been contested from the ECB.
Silverwood is familiar with the England set-up using functioned under Bayliss, also won both branches of their County Championship while in charge of Essex.
The 44-year-old, who had been a pace bowler with Yorkshire, performed six Tests and seven one-day internationals to England between 2002 and 1996.
He is currently set to become only the second Englishman to coach the team on a full-time basis since 1999.
