Royals vs. Orioles MLB Pick – August 19th

The Kansas City Royals had a chance to overcome the New York Mets in their three-game series on the weekend, but let things to get away on Sunday afternoon. Going to the 7th inning with a 4-3 lead, the Mets poured it around with 6 runs to proceed comfortably by a score of 9-4. They’d finally go on for a 11-5 victory Sunday afternoon. What looked like will be quite a close one turned into a blowout for the Mets.
When the Mets‘ bats are moving just down like that down the stretch, you may want to pencil them in the postseason. The offense is their big question mark, that is an inconsistent unit about them in 2019. Pitching wise, it’s hard to bet against the rotation they have to throw at hitters.
The Royals proceed having a visit to Baltimore to get a meaningless run from the Orioles. Meaningless in the feeling that this game does not have any effect on the postseason. It is essentially a glorified spring training match, together with the Royals and Orioles getting a look at some of their younger skills. They are already searching for a 2020 lineup. Do not expect too much advancement from either side the next season, however.
Baltimore are getting a good look at John Means, since the rookie will be getting his 24th look at Camden Yards tonight. He pitched in 3.1 innings to acquire a taste of big league action last season. This year, with an opening at the rotation, the Orioles have given Means that an protracted chance as a beginner.
In general, he’s been decent for a beginner, but we have been seeing him battle recently. We are going to see what he can perform against the Royals tonight in home at Baltimore. The Royals will look to Jorge Lopez, that has defended his previous high of seven starts in one season.
Lopez is going to be expected to create his 31st look and 12th start in 2019 tonight. He hasn’t been great, but Lopez is a body which the Royals could throw out there in this season. Head below for our free Royals vs. Orioles select.

John Means is trying to keep it down the stretch. He had been pitching so well this year, particularly for a rookie, but Means has just discovered that beating major league hitting isn’t going to be easy all of the time. This is a marathon for a great deal of young pitchers that aren’t used to pitching this much contrary to the top hitters on the planet. Means had been throttled in his latest excursions, both of which came against the Yankees.
So, he won’t need to confront a lineup as good as the Yankees here, however, his confidence has been shaken because of them. Means allowed 10 earned runs in 7.1 innings of play, together with all the Yanks winning by scores of 14-2 and 8-3. He was also struggling three outings past from the Diamondbacks.
Means yielded 6 hits and 3 earned runs in 3.1 innings. He has not made it past 3 innings because July 19th from the Red Sox. This will be his first appearance at the Royals in his profession. Means should be getting plenty of run support against Jorge Lopez tonight, so that he might not need a stellar performance for a Baltimore win Monday. We all know he probably isn’t going to receive much help from the bullpen,“ who are dead last in the majors with a 6.08 ERA. Lopez will be hunting just his second win of the year tonight at Camden Yards.
Lopez has had chances to stick in a turning because 2015, however, was never able to find the task done. Nothing has changed in 2019 due to him personally as he looks like a guy who belongs in the minors. Lopez enters Monday with a 6.51 ERA and 1.55 WHIP. He has been punished for a 15.75 ERA, 2.62 WHIP, along with .511 OBA within his past three starts.
Lopez has spent most of his time from the bullpen this year and has been encouraged in his latest look to begin against the Tigers. He was missing because he got exposed to 4 earned runs in 1.1 innings. Baltimore are hitting against .429 with a .500 OBP in seven at-bats against Lopez. The 26-year-old likely isn’t likely to suddenly figure it out in Baltimore tonight. This looks like a wonderful spot to get an OVER ticket to cash.
